Adventure Unlimited Adventure Unlimited Uses Blackbaud Solutions To Achieve a 360-Degree View of Constituents
Since 1955, Adventure Unlimited has grown from a western style, Rocky Mountain summer camp into a multi-national nonprofit organization with 50 local chapters. Today, the organization operates a 1,100-acre ranch near Buena Vista, Colorado, with more than 600 campers from around the world attending each summer. In addition, Adventure Unlimited manages year-round youth, family, and adult activities throughout the United States and Australia.
The Challenge: As Adventure Unlimited approached its 50th anniversary, the organization realized the system it was using to track participant information — from registration to volunteers to billing — could not keep up with its growing needs.
The Solution: Adventure Unlimited deployed a combination of Blackbaud solutions, including The Raiser’s Edge® and The Financial Edge™, to reduce duplicate entry between offices, effectively track constituent information, and streamline camp processes.
The Results: The organization decreased mailing costs by more than $2,000 per mailing by eliminating duplicate constituent records and using Blackbaud’s Data Enrichment Services™. Using The Raiser’s Edge, Adventure Unlimited also records every point of contact with constituents, whether it be participation as a past camper, event attendee, volunteer, or donor. This 360-degree view of constituents allows staff to cultivate stronger relationships with the people most committed to the organization. The Financial Edge not only helps Adventure Unlimited track revenue and expenses, but also helps produce accurate, timely financial reports for stakeholders.
